Marshfield
Near the geographic center of Wisconsin is Marshfield, population around 19,500 and its unusual because the city sits in both Wood and Marathon counties. Because of all of the railroad tracks that intersected in the community, Marshfield was nicknamed “hub City”. In 1901, there were 38 passenger trains stopping daily in the town. Marshfield is a city known for its health care industry with over 6 hospitals, clinics & medical centers all within 10 miles. The city has some amazing natural attractions including Wildwood Park & Zoo , Central State Trail, Monk Botanical Gardens, as well as the world’s largest round barn, Wenzel Family Plaza, Chestnut Center for the Arts, Governor William H. Upham House, and the Central Wisconsin’s Children’s Museum. Marshfield is one of the best places to live in Wisconsin; (according to niche.com) it offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their own homes. The public schools in Marshfield are highly rated. There are also a lot of bars and parks, so you’ll never run out of things to do! The city has a total area of 13.69 square miles – almost all of it is land!
